I’ve owned her from new and she is a 2011 plate Bellagio Lux version which was custom built as a “Bagger” from a brand new bike by Brian & Paul at the (now closed) Corsa Italiana “Speed Shop”. The changes/additions from the base bike are: Custom red paint work, touring screen, California bar conversion, polished chrome valve covers & QD dual shotgun exhaust, which sound superb. I have subsequently added Hepco & Becker (H&B) engine protection bars which I had chromed to match in with the valve covers. I’ve also added H&B front twin lights, H&B rear rack to which I have fitted a Givi monokey plate, Oxford heated grips, hand guards and a 12v socket. I‘ve also upgraded the rear shock to a custom built Matris with remote pre-load adjustment.
She was serviced at every interval originally by Corsa Italiana and after their closure, up until this year by “Baldrick” one of the ex Corsa mechanics who was, until recently, running his own workshop local to me. For 2019 I have just had her serviced by another local garage plus MOT from 1st March and I have fitted a new set of Michelin Pilot Road 4’s which have been superb touring tyres in all conditions.
She has 27,000 trouble free miles behind her and everything is in good working order. She has taken me all over Europe over the last 8 years and is an incredibly comfortable and capable tourer, albeit not best suited to two up as the rear rack eats into the pillion seat space. The engine is simply one of the best Guzzi have produced in their modern bikes and was only used in production in this model until the model run ceased a few years ago. The 940cc shaft driven bike is very laid back for touring but has oodles of torque, loves to be revved and will hustle along through the twisties with great handling. The production run of the original Bellagio was limited in the UK to just a few years so the bikes are rare even in standard from. As a custom build she is truly unique!
