Suzuki GSF1200V Bandit 1997: 19,990 genuine miles with MOT evidence. One previous owner & in

(generally) excellent condition. Always garaged & never used in winter, two keys with

Thatcham-approved Meta alarm/immobiliser (with installation certificate, code card & spare fob) and

original Datatag registration doc, Haynes manual and Suzuki owner’s manual.

Owned since 2013 when I bought it from my local Suzuki dealer as a “pimped” bike (see pic) with the

sole intention of returning it to standard glory by using original donor parts from my own,

standard ‘98 1200 Bandit.

In 2014, Off came the Renthal ‘bars & anodised bar ends, oil-cooler cover, cylinder head braided

oil pipes, Akra exhaust, lowered seat, after-market engine covers, rearsets, braced swingarm,

undertray, small  number  plate,  rear  hugger,  white  lens  indicators  and  stage  3 carbs with

individual filters. I kept the fender extender, WP progressive front springs, tank & top yoke

protectors & Goodridge brake & clutch lines (with token “blingy” valve caps) & enjoyed putting on

the next 12000, trouble-free, summer only miles with one memorable 2000 mile trip to Europe in

2015.

The  honest  bits:  There  is  a  small,  slight  scratch  on  the  top  of  the  tank  (courtesy

of  a neighbour’s cat!), & alternator cover. The rear bungee tubes were removed by the previous

owner but I still have these so they can be brazed back on if you prefer the absolute standard look

over the cleaner lines.

The good bits: New Hagon rear shock (adjustable preload & damping) fitted @ 14,300 miles. At 18300

miles: New Yuasa battery (always connected to trickle charger), new genuine fuel tap,  new  genuine

headstock  bearings  &  the  front  forks  had  a  hard  re-chrome  by  the renowned AM Philpots

of Luton with fresh oil & new, genuine seals. At 19200 miles: New

DID Gold VX-ring chain with Ognibene silent sprockets along with new Pirelli Diablo Strada tyres

& new EBC rear pads with fresh fluid. Dealer serviced to May 2009. Since Aug 2013, serviced

in-house with the support of my local, Suzuki dealer when necessary with detailed service notes for

info & historical receipts for more than £2600.

Along with what has to be one of the best, low-mileage, (almost) standard MK1 Bandits to prowl the

UK’s roads, you’ll also get 12 months’ MOT (current MOT expires May 2021), an oil change with

genuine Suzuki filter, new EBC front brake pads with fresh fluid, new genuine left footrest rubber

& a box of original, standard carb internals which were removed & stored at 7000 miles.

I’m reluctantly selling because I need to reduce my “small fleet” of bikes to make space in the

garage & use the funds to sort 6th gear on my 1978 GT380 and a rebore on my XT600.

Feel free to call me on 07800 859866 to discuss. Many thanks, Mike.
